Xzero, which has developed a whole new way to purify water, could become Sweden’s next world company. The EU’s most prominent innovation program Horizon 2020 SME believes in the company and has first invested SEK 6 million and now SEK 7 million on the pioneering water treatment company. The tests at Europe’s leading nano institute imec in Belgium have proven the technology’s effectiveness and Xzero continues to receive support after the EU mid-term evaluation.
– It means a lot that we get this support and to get a recognition for all the hard work we put in. The fact that Horizon 2020 SME sees Xzero as one of Europe’s future promises is fantastic. We are now ready to take the next step in our innovation journey, says Aapo Sääsk, Xzero’s founder.
Horizon 2020 SME is a EU program that awards several million euros each year to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The aim of the program is to promote the development of European innovations.
